Lemon Boy, a Seattle-based pop-punk duo, blends riot grrrl energy with dark humor on their debut album, Eat. Skate. Die. Formed by Nicole Giusti and Yaz Ahsani, the band draws from their experiences as women of color and children of immigrants, addressing themes like racism and religious trauma. Their music, inspired by punk and skate culture, incorporates Persian and Filipino influences. Encouraged by Seattle’s DIY scene, Lemon Boy aims to challenge toxic narratives and promote inclusivity in punk music. With their debut, they’re making noise and creating space for diverse voices in the local music community.
I published an article about this group’s debut with the Seattle news outlet, The Stranger.
